Oscar-nominated La La Land film costumes on display...

Damien Chazelle's romantic musical La La Land is up for a record breaking fourteen Oscar nominations this year, and in addition to Best Motion Picture, Best Directing, Best Male Actor for Ryan Gosling and Best Female Actress for Emma Stone, Mary Zophres is also nominated for her second Academy Award for Best Achievement in Costume Design.

This fun display of colourful outfits from the movie was photographed on display at FIDM Museum's 25th Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition on February 8, 2017.

The L.A. set movie about an aspiring actress and a jazz pianist's romance is a real throwback to the Hollywood musicals of yesteryear, and these bold, primary colour party dresses from the 'Someone in the Crowd' song sequence really evoke that Technicolor era, whilst the exhibit also features Emma Stone's green dress and Ryan Gosling's outfit from their aerial Griffith Observatory scenes.
