Original movie costumes on display from
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
These costumes from the fantastical movie were designed by Colleen Atwood, who has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design twelve times and won three times.Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
These peculiar costumes were photographed on display at the 25th Art of Motion Picture Costume Design at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum on February 8, 2017, but this year she is not nominated for this Tim Burton film, but for her costumes from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

In the film directed Eva Green plays the titular headmistress, 'Miss Peregrine', and her peculiar gift is to be able to turn into a bird, a peregrine falcon. Her type of female peculiar are called 'Ymbrynes' and can also control time, helping her protect her young wards.

To evoke her birdlike qualities in human form, the costume designer gave her character pointed shoulders, an elongated, almost Edwardian jacket, with little touches of blue on the stitching.
Emma Bloom costume worn by Ella Purnell
in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Ella Purnell plays 'Emma', a teenage girl with the peculiar paranormal ability to manipulate air and who needs to wear weighted lead boots to help tether her to the ground, otherwise she would float away.
I've previously seen this costume on display alongside Lauren McCrostie's Olive costume from Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children when they were exhibited at ArcLight Sherman Oaks cinema last September. This display is better though, as these 1940s-inspired outfits are not hidden away behind reflective cases allowing you to have a better look at the designs.
Twins costumes worn by Joseph and Thomas Odwell
in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Quite possibly the most peculiar looking and creepiest costumes in the movie are worn by the Twins, masked sackcloth-wearing children with gorgon-like power (hence the hooded masks).
For more spooky twin looks, make sure you check out these twin girl costumes from The Shining on display.
