The 'Winton Flyer' was a fictional creation purpose-built for the 1969 movie starring Steve McQueen, as Boon Hogganbeck, in The Reivers.

The vehicle featured so prominently in the light comedy based on William Faulkner's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, that McQueen called it "the real star of the picture".

Designed to resemble a typical vehicle from 1904, the 'Winton Flyer' was constructed from scratch by renowned counterculture artist and craftsman Kenneth Howard, better known as Von Dutch.

Surviving the rigors of a Hollywood shoot, McQueen took possession of the car after completion of the film and retained it until his death in 1980.

What a great car the Winton flyer was in the movie The reivers. I would love to have a replica of one today. Anyone want to build one for me?
