Like other actors of the time, Laurel and Hardy often drove Ford Model T's in their movies because they were plentiful and extremely inexpensive on the used car market. Movie production companies appreciated these features as they were often expected to modify, wreck or demolish several cars during the shooting of a film.

The low-priced and reliable mass-produced Ford Model T is regarded as the car that put America on the road. The first vehicle to be manufactured on a moving assembly line, it enabled Henry Ford to build 15 million units before production ended in 1927.

This exhibit was photographed at The Petersen Automotive Museum in L.A. on July 28, 2009.
