In The Marvels Brie Larson's 'Carol Danvers' past comes back to haunt her as she experiences the repercussions of her destroying the Kree's AI ruler, the 'Supreme Intelligence', which earned her the title of 'Annihilator'. Zawe Ashton's Kree warrior, Accuser and new Supremor, 'Dar-Benn', targets the planets of Carol's allies, to steal their resources - their atmosphere, water and sunlight to restore her homeworld, Hala. When Captain Marvel's powers become entangled with the light powers of 'Captain Monica Rambeau' (Teyonah Parris) and 'Kamala Khan' aka 'Ms. Marvel' (Iman Vellani) the three heroes must team up to defeat the zealot and save the universe.

I love The Marvels. There, I've said it. The latest addition to the MCU may not have benefited from talent promotion due to the actors strike and enjoyed more than its fair share of misogyny and negativity from toxic fandom, but that didn't stop me going to see it again at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre and enjoying not only the Captain Marvel sequel, but screen-worn costumes from the film too.

Carol receives this new-look costume with its larger Hala star courtesy of 'Prince Yan' (Park Seo-joon) of the water planet Aladna and it was photographed on display at the El Capitan Theatre on November 14, 2023.
