In the sequel to the 2019 film and the television series of the same name,
Downton Abbey: A New Era, the
'Crawley' family and staff at the
Yorkshire stately home face the future and changing times. Set in 1928, those changes include a wedding, health issues, new admirers, a death of a beloved family matriarch, a visit to a villa in the
South of France gifted to the
Dowager Countess of Grantham and a film production company wanting to shoot a silent film at
Downton.
Elizabeth McGovern returns as
'Cora Crawley' the
Countess of Grantham and wife of the
7th Earl of Grantham, Laura Carmichael as her middle daughter
'Lady Edith Pelham', now
Marchioness of Hexham and
Michelle Dockery as her eldest daughter,
