Angelina Jolie's 2014 Maleficent movie costume on display...

With Halloween imminent and having shared costumes from the new Maleficent: Mistress of Evil film in recent days, I thought it would also be cool to share these images of Angelina Jolie's iconic 'Christening curse' costume from the 2014 live-action film, which reimagined the Sleeping Beauty fairytale and told a different side of the story from the dark fairy's perspective.

This vision in black which reinterpreted the iconic Disney Villain's classic look was designed by Anna B. Sheppard and was photographed on display at this year's D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 23, 2019.

The curse costume was part of the Heroes & Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume exhibit presented by the Walt Disney Archives and I love the devilish shadows cast by Maleficent's horns.

In Disney's Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Angelina Jolie's dark fairy faces a new threat to the Moors and the magical creatures that dwell there, Michelle Pfeiffer's 'Queen Ingrith'. The Queen uses her son, 'Prince Philip's', engagement to 'Princess Aurora' to drive a wedge between the princess and her horned and winged godmother and declare war on the fae and non-humans.

This stunning, pearl-embroidered war costume was worn by Queen Ingrith for the movie's climatic battle and was designed by Ellen Mirojnick.

This regal outfit was photographed on display downstairs at Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre alongside these other Maleficent: Mistress of Evil costumes, jewelry and props.

Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning costumes from Maleficent: Mistress of Evil on display...

In the fantasy sequel to 2014's movie, Angelina Jolie reprises her role as the dark fairy Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Elle Fanning as her goddaughter 'Princess Aurora'. The first live-action movie based on Disney's 1959 animated classic, retold the tale of Sleeping Beauty from the perspective of the villain in that fairytale. This time around Michelle Pfeiffer's 'Queen Ingrith' sees the opportunity to wipe out all magical folk from the Moors when her son 'Prince Philip' asks Aurora to marry him, using her cunning to drive a wedge between Maleficent and her adopted daughter and foment war between humans and the fae.

This costume from the movie worn by Angelina Jolie as Maleficent (minus her impressive CGI wings) when she attends the royal dinner to celebrate Aurora and Philip's engagement was photographed in the foyer of Hollywood's infamous El Capitan Theatre on October 24, 2019.

In the film Aurora encourages her godmother to wear a black scarf over her horns to make both her and the humans in attendance more comfortable with her appearance.

Angelina Jolie wears this reptilian skin-themed costume on the Moors upon hearing Aurora has accepted Philip's marriage proposal, whilst Elle Fanning wears this pink dress to Aurora's engagement dinner at the castle of the King and Queen.
