Emmy-nominated costumes from The Masked Singer season 1 on display...

With the sophomore season of The Masked Singer returning for the fall TV schedule, today it's time to shine a spotlight on the Emmy-nominated costumes from the first season, specifically the 'Lion' costume worn by Rumer Willis, the 'Bee' costume worn by Gladys Knight and the 'Unicorn' costume worn by Tori Spelling. In the reality singing competition show masked celebrities perform in front of a panel of judges, their identities unknown to audiences and judges alike, until one by one they are unmasked and eliminated, and only one winner is crowned.

This trio of elaborate costumes were photographed on display at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum on August 20, 2019.

Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Aluma Marina Toybina was Costume Designer on the debut season with help from Assistant Costume Designer Grainne O'Sullivan and this year they are Emmy nominated for Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Programming.

To be honest I'm not sure which one of them is my favourite, probably the not-so-cowardly Lion or the spooky Unicorn if I had to choose. All of them would make for amazing costumes for Halloween though, or costume inspiration at least.
