Wonderstruck movie costumes on display...

Based on Brian Selznick's 2011 novel, director Todd Haynes 2017 mystery drama Wonderstruck follows the stories of two children in two different time periods. In 1927 a young 12-year-old deaf 'Rose' (Millicent Simmonds) runs away from her father's New Jersey home to find her mother and idol, the actress 'Lillian Mayhew' (played by Julianne Moore), which is presented in black and white as a silent movie, whilst in 1977 a recently orphaned 12-year-old boy called 'Ben' (Oakes Fegly) runs aways from his Minnesota home in search of his father.

This film wardrobe from Wonderstruck was photographed on display at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum on February 6, 2018 and the different time period costumes were designed by three-time Oscar winner Sandy Powell.

You can see more of her work in these Cinderella live-action movie costumes, these Carol movie costumes and these Hugo movie costumes.

I thought it was worth shining a spotlight on this 18th century stage costume worn by Julianne Moore as actress Lillian Mayhew. This faux period gown is covered in shiny metallic lamé decorations and bows on the dress, but shorter in style than traditional 18th century dresses to reflect the 1920s silver screen era.

Fans of Julianne Moore can also check out her Poppy costume from Kingsman: The Golden Circle and her costume from The Kids Are All Right.

Guardians of the Galaxy costumes from Avengers: Infinity War on display...

In the nineteenth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a decade, Earth's mightiest heroes team-up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, 'Doctor Strange' and 'Black Panther' and his Wakandan armies to take on the cosmic menace of 'Thanos' and his Black Order in Avengers: Infinity War. The Guardians find 'Thor' floating in space and then split into two teams, on missions to find the Infinity Stones and craft a weapon to defeat the mad Titan.

Introduced in the second Guardians film, this cool green costume worn by Pom Klementieff as the alien empath 'Mantis', who can read emotions, calm thoughts and put adversaries to sleep.

I love how the pleats in the costume give Mantis an insect-like quality.

Chris Pratt is back as the half-human 'Peter Quill' aka 'Star-Lord', the lover of 'Gamora' and de facto leader of the ragtag bunch of cosmic Guardians.

Fans of the character can also check out his other Star-Lord costumes from previous GOTG installments.

There was no teenage 'Groot' on display with this exhibit, but there was a maquette of 'Rocket Raccoon' (voiced by Bradley Cooper) to show off the costume he sports in the movie (in CGI) and his size next to the other Guardians.

If you've seen the epic movie you'll know things do not end well for the favourite green-skinned daughter of Thanos, but the fact that Gamora is so integral to the plot and we get to see her backstory is a joy.

Fans of the character can also check our Gamora's costume from Guardians of the Galaxy from 2014.

Regardless of the movie I never seem to be able to get any good reference shots for 'Nebula', one of the other daughters of Thanos, even though this seems to be the same Ravagers costume she sported in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

However fans of Karen Gillan can also check out her Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle costume and her Amy Pond Doctor Who costumes.
