Emmy-nominated Audrey Hepburn-inspired Big Little Lies costumes on display...

HBO's recent limited series adaptation of Liane Moriarty's 2014 Big Little Lies novel not only kept viewers in suspense for seven episodes this year, but also garnered much critical acclaim receiving sixteen Emmy nominations, including a nod for Outstanding Contemporary Costumes.

This trio of iconic Audrey Hepburn-inspired costumes were designed by FIDM alumna Alix Friedberg, nominated alongside Assistant Costume Designer Rosa Garcia and Costume Supervisor Patricia McLaughlin.

They were photographed on display at the 11th Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design exhibition at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) Museum on August 23, 2017.

The limited series by David E. Kelley followed the seemingly perfect lives of mothers with first graders living in a Monterey town in California, although they all had their share of hidden, dark secrets which would ultimately lead to murder.

At the end of the season the women and their spouses all attend an 'Audrey and Elvis'-themed trivia night fundraiser at their school, with the women's looks inspired by the iconic movie costumes of Audrey Hepburn.

Reese Witherspoon's 'Madeline' wears a sleeping outfit inspired by 'Holly Golightly' in 1961's Breakfast at Tiffany's, comprised of an oversized Celine white shirt with added black tuxedo buttons and Etsy sleep mask.

Nicole Kidman's emotionally and physically abused 'Celeste Wright' wears this gorgeous black dress homage to Holly GoLightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

This iconic look was created with a custom-made dress from atelier Anna Maier, black gloves by Cornelia James in England and pearls from Brooks Brothers.

Meanwhile Laura Dern's scheming 'Renata' wore an ensemble inspired by 'Eliza Doolittle's' ascot dress in 1964's My Fair Lady movie.

The lace custom-made wedding dress by Anna Maier was adorned with pleated organza cuffs and black and white ribbons and bows, plus topped with a custom-made hat by Louise Green.
