Original costumes from The Handmaid's Tale season one
That's why I'm glad the TV show was recognised with thirteen Emmy nominations, including one for Costume Designer Ane Crabtree, Assistant Costume Designer Stacy Caballero, and Costume Supervisors Sheena Wichary and Natalie Bronfman. These costumes from the show are nominated for Outstanding Period/Fantasy Costumes for a Series and were photographed on display at the 11th Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design at Downtown L.A.'s FIDM Museum on August 23, 2017.
The costumes featured included the now iconic red Handmaid costume worn by Elisabeth Moss as 'Offred' (forced to take the name of her male Commander is if she is his property) and the costume worn by Yvonne Strahovski as 'Serena Joy Waterford' the Commander's infertile conservative wife who helped forge this twisted new society.
I for one can't wait to see what happens next in season two of this show and will keep my fingers crossed for the series Emmy chances.
