Screen-worn movie costumes from Hidden Figures
In the enlightening biopic Taraji P. Henson plays the widowed mother-of-three and mathematics genius 'Katherine G. Johnson', Janelle MonĂ¡e plays aspiring engineer 'Mary Jackson' who takes on the courts to be able to study and earn her qualification at a segregated college and Octavia Spencer earned an Oscar-nomination for her role as 'Dorothy Vaughan' who was insightful enough to see that technology would soon replace NASA's human 'computers' and trained to learn the new IBM computer language and demanded equal pay that her management position entitled her to regardless of skin colour.

They always put on such a wonderful show and I appreciate that they may want to keep the FIDM Museum exhibition looking uniform with their all-white mannequins, but I feel this is a missed opportunity here to not have a different, more representative skin tone for these costumes to be presented on, like with the ArcLight Hollywood Hidden Figures movie costume display around the movie's release, after all this is a movie about black women in history (and the same could be said for these Fences movie costumes, these Empire TV costumes, these Roots mini-series costumes and more besides).
