Costumes from Cirque du Soleil O on display...

On my first visit to Las Vegas earlier this year on April 7, I was fortunate enough to enjoy Cirque du Soleil's fantastical aquatic themed show 'O' at The Bellagio Hotel.

I was reminded the other day that I'd snapped some of the amazing costumes featured in the show that were on display in the theatre's foyer.

The show is such a visual spectacle of acrobatics, diving and performance art, that it's hard to notice the detail of the costumes from afar, so it was great to see them up close. I especially liked the female synchronized swimmers outfits, with their jeweled scales.

Minotaur and Mondragon costumes from Immortals on display...

In Immortals, a mortal hero 'Theseus' (Henry Cavill) is chosen by the Greek gods to fight for humanity against 'King Hyperion' (Mickey Rourke) and his hordes, plus legendary mythological creatures like the minotaur.

The Minotaur's mask is pretty amazing, as it's actually a mask within a barbed wiremask which is a great idea, although you can imagine it can't be comfortable to wear, move or even fight in. In the movie the barbed mask is coated with poison to inflict maximum damage to enemies.

If you like these fantastical creations, be sure to check out the costumes worn by Theseus and Zeus in Immortals too.

I don't know about you, but these original Immortals costumes are getting me pretty excited for the movie out on November 11, 2011.

Theseus and Zeus costumes from Immortals...

In Immortals Henry Cavill stars as 'Theseus', a mortal chosen by the king of the Greek gods, 'Zeus', to battle the ruthless 'King Hyperion' before he can free the imprisoned Titans and destroy all humanity and the gods of Olympus.

Forbidden to interfere in the wars of mankind, Theseus is a peasant who is chosen by Zeus to lead the fight for humanity against Hyperion (Mickey Rourke), who leads an army in search of the fabled Epirius Bow that will unleash the Titans on the world.

This is the battle armour that Henry Cavill wears as the mortal hero, although for most of the movie he's not afraid to show of his well toned physique (well the film is from the producers of 300, after all).

Also included in the exhibit was the costume worn by Luke Evans as father of the Greek Pantheon, Zeus.
