Airwolf helicopter miniature on display...

In the 80's the vehicles were often the stars of some television shows, be it the talking car, KITT, in Knight Rider, the motorcycle in Street Hawk or in Airwolf's case the high-tech military helicopter.

The TV show ran from 1984 to 1987 for four seasons (although the final season was totally recast) and starred Jan-Michael Vincent and Ernest Borgnine undertaking various covert missions in the titular helicopter to an 80's synthesizer soundtrack.

  1. Never was this a screen used Airwolf helmets and the RC Chopper is not a original either. I know for a fact and own screen used props from the show including the helmet and the Larry Jolly RC. I have no idea who this poster is or what they think they can gain for being misleading

  2. Not trying to mislead anyone 'anonymous', just presenting what was on display at Universal Studios Hollywood from their own Universal/NBC archives. Maybe you should read more thoroughly before you start accusing people.

  3. Jason, I'm sure you're not trying to mislead anyone, and I know this is a very old post, so forgive me on that. But Anonymous is correct. The Larry Jolly fuselage is much more accurate than this helicopter on display. I own one of these rare fuselages from Larry Jolly's original molds, as well. I don't know the whole story behind the movie helicopters, as maybe they had built earlier versions and used them in some episodes. For example, this one has a flybar, which WAS seen used in Airwolf: The Movie. However Larry Jolly's helicopter had the LEGEND mechanics, which was flybarless, which Jolly, himself, flew the model for several episodes. Nice display, however no one knows for sure if this was one of the actual helicopters used, or not. I just know that the Larry Jolly version that sold by Helicopter World came from his actual molds, and the differences between mine and this one are clearly noticeable. Cheers! :)
