Up close with The Hateful Eight film costumes...

Only the other day I was bemoaning the fact that I hadn't been able to take the best photographed of The Hateful Eight costumes on display behind their reflective display cases and windows, but as luck would have it I won an ArcLight Hollywood giveaway for a walk-through of the cinema costume exhibit (along with a bag full of other goodies from the film) on January 21, 2016.

First up is a closer look at Kurt Russell's 'John Ruth' bounty hunter costume and Oscar-nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh's killer 'Daisy Domergue' costume. In Quentin Tarantino's latest film he's transporting the murdering woman in chains to the town of Red Rock in blizzard conditions in post-Civil War Wyoming.

Courtney Hoffman was Costume Designer on this bloody Western mystery and the next costume, which I think will make for a great Halloween or Cosplay costume, was worn by Samuel L. Jackson as the bounty hunter 'Major Marquis Warren' (although it's a shame the mannequin is holding his iconic-looking white leather gloves, rather than wearing them)'.

Next up is a clear view of the costume worn by Walton Goggins as the shifty 'Sheriff Chris Mannix', which was previously obscured by the other costumes and props on display.

In the film Demián Bichir plays 'Bob The Mexican', the supposed caretaker of Minnie's Haberdashery, the stagecoach lodge where all these strangers find themselves in the storm.

Tim Roth stars as Red Rock's talkative British hangman, 'Oswaldo Mowbry' and wears this outfit in the movie.

Bruce Dern plays 'General Sanford "Sandy" Smithers', an elderly, proud Confederate veteran. And in addition to all these costumes worn by the main cast, the props featured in this exhibit are also screen used items.

And finally here's a closer look at Michael Madsen's 'Joe Gage' character costume from all angles. Seeing screen-used costumes and props up close really does heighten your cinema going experience in my opinion.

Hail, Caesar! film costumes on display...

Already responsible for such classics as The Big Lebowski, Fargo and No Country for Old Men, can the Coen brothers do it again with their latest offering, Hail, Caesar! Set in 1950s L.A., Josh Brolin plays a Hollywood 'Fixer', who solves problems for big names and Capital Pictures, his latest being that their studio star, 'Baird Whitlock' (George Clooney), has disappeared in the middle of making his latest film.

Here are three costumes from the comedy, worn by Clancy Brown, George Clooney and Scarlett Johansson, on display at ArcLight Hollywood cinema on January 21, 2016, to help promote the new film.

Mary Zophres was Costume Designer on the movie and has previously been nominated for an Oscar for her costumes on the Coen's 2010 True Grit movie remake.

Plus you can also see her astronaut costumes in Interstellar and you can also see her 1940s and 50s Hollywood costumes in Gangster Squad.

In the movie, Clancy Brown and George Clooney wear these Roman Centurion costumes as actors in a film (within the film) that takes place in Ancient Rome.

Clooney's 'Baird Whitlock' is wearing his costume when he's kidnapped by the mysterious group called 'The Future'. Personally I love the ornate detail of the lion head clasps that hold his cloak onto his breastplate, plus initially his helmet was on backwards in this display (but they swapped it around the next day as you can see from these next photos).

In the movie which as ever has been shrouded in mystery, Scarlett Johansson stars as Hollywood starlet 'DeeAnna Moran' and wears this fashionable caped yellow outfit and black hat.
