Iron Man Mark V briefcase armour on display...

Of all the Iron Man suits on display at Disney's Tomorrowland Innoventions attraction on April 17, 2013, the briefcase armour that featured in Iron Man 2 is by far my favourite (especially as it doesn't hurt that it evokes the silver and red costume from his West Coast Avengers days).

Reading the comic books for years, I always wondered how Tony Stark could believably fit his whole Iron Man suit into a briefcase, but thanks to the wonders of modern CGI special effects I was thrilled to see he could do it in the 2010 sequel, when the armoured Avenger was attacked by Ivan 'Whiplash' Vanko on the racetrack in Monaco.

Iron Man Mark IV suit on display...

In 2010's Iron Man sequel, not only did Tony Stark face villains 'Whiplash' and 'Justin Hammer', but the armoured Avenger also had to deal with his own heritage and inner demons. This Mark IV suit is the one he wore in the first half of the movie until he upgraded his arc reactor power source to the triangular version.

This Iron Man suit was photographed on April 17, 2013 as part of Tony Stark's Hall of Armour from his Malibu mansion in his third solo cinematic outing, that has been temporarily recreated at Disneyland to help promote Iron Man 3.

Battle damaged Iron Man Mark III suit on display...

I've been a huge Marvel Comics fan for almost 30 years, so you can understand how excited I was to see the new Iron Man 3 movie suit and Tony Stark's Hall of Armours exhibit at Disneyland in California on April 17, 2013. Included in the display was this battle damaged version of the Iron Man Mark III armour that featured in his 2008 big screen origin movie.

In Iron Man's 2008 first solo outing and origin movie, Tony Stark builds this shiny Mark II suit after escaping his terrorist captors, which he then gives a more flambouyant, sleek red and gold paint job.

These life-size previous generation suits featured in Iron Man 3 were photographed at Disneyland's Innoventions attraction on April 17, 2013, where they are temporarily on display to help promote the new movie.

In the 2010 sequel, his best friend James 'Rhodey' Rhodes is forced to don the gleaming Mark II suit to subdue a drunken armoured Tony Stark, which he then turns over to the U.S. military.

I have to say, I loved being able to see all the rivets and joint details up close on this unpainted model, Marvel really did an awesome job of translating Iron Man from the pages of the comics to the big screen with these high-tech looking suits.

Also on display beside the full-size armour were these original helmet and chest plate pieces from the Mark II suit as worn, I'd assume, by Robert Downey Jr. in the first Iron Man film.
